Why is South Carolina not represented in the Music Industry?

I have been a proud resident of South Carolina for 30 plus years now and I have seen the absolute worse of this place but always was optimistic that one day this state would be recognized for something other than negativity and stereotypes. I’ve seen some glimpse of hope but every occassion ends with not much fan fare. We honestly dont have much to cheer about besides the presence of enormous amounts of “potential”. We see signs of potential greatness living amongst us but we seek the approval and validation from outside sources. There in lies our perpetual conumdrum, always looking outward for value and acceptance from the very people who sterotype and overlook or look down upon us. Our problem is that we dont understand the value of our vote, if we choose to support something that thing typically sells or experience gains. Same applies to our music and entertainment culture, if we can get the citizens of this great state to start investing in “Us” then and only then will we start experiencing gains and upward motion. I am definitely tired of seeing us finish last everytime and always rooted for the “Under Dog” but dang being the “Under Dog” for your entire existence is a whole different type of hurt. Nevertheless I still show up and cheer in expectation of finally breaking the curse of the Chicken state. Fortunately forward thinkers like those at V12 Studios has made it their mission to “Make SC Look Great!” and with their current approach to marketing their music, products and services really shows that maybe we can still believe in miracles.
